We’ve been back since last Wednesday, but Chris and I have also summarily fallen ill. This latest flu bug is really something. I visited the Doctor on Thursday morning, and was basically floored for the next two days. Still not feeling very well today. luckily the children seem to be faring much better than Chris and I.
must be getting old.
The day started early enough at 7 am with Ariel walking up to me asking for her morning milk. Ah…..yawn…..we’re heading to Bintan today. With a 12 pm ferry to catch, we have to be at the terminal by 10am to check in. We also have breakfast with Dad, Mum and my bro’s family at 9am.
After I gave the kids a good scrub, it was already close to 8:30am. Chris and I got ready, and we were out of the house at 9am sharp.
The terminal was really crowded with folks just like us going away for the Christmas hols, and you can imagine the hectic check in, screaming kids in tow and parents trying to smile widely for the immigration officers.
Finally reached Nirwana Resort at 1pm Bintan time, and we duely found out our rooms were still being cleaned out. So, we were forced to go have lunch, and we just settled into our room just minutes ago.
We’re off to Bintan for the next couple of days with Dad, Mum and my bro’s family on our annual Christmas getaway. Last year it was Desaru, and it was a wet, wet, wet christmas. Hope that this time around, the weather will be drier, and the sand and sea would be more inviting.
Mean time, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!
no… I didn’t bring the Wii.
Ok. I splurged a little. call it a Christmas present for the entire family… oh….I don’t know. call it anything you want. We got a Wii….
Apart from the small trouble we had initially with the Japanese set (which is now resolved, since changing to the American set), the family is on to a funtabulous time playing bowling, tennis and baseball (Wii Sports). Its easy enough for the kids to learn straight off, and also fun enough for Christine to participate in. She still needs a little perspective to her tennis swings.
I bought 3 additional controllers, so that 4 of us could play at any one time. Dang….they should have made a console for up to 5 controllers.
I took TIBS 966 from Eunos after getting off the train, and only realized something was wrong after it turned to the PIE! Jialat. Its going to be a long way back tonight. Guess I’m still a novice when it comes to buses. Sheesh!
We headed out for a spot of Christmas gift shopping this morning. What luck that I got an envelope of S$50 Takshimaya gift vouchers. Coupled with some S$40 gift vouchers from Tangs, we headed to Orchard road to buy some toys for Christmas! ![]()
When we walked into the Ngee Ann City Atrium, we were greeted by this gigantic Christmas Tree!!!!
Kyla and Ariel just had to get a photo taken with it.
Look at it! Its amazing!
